Team/Role Overview:
The Digital Asset Payment Product Manager is a key role responsible for driving the product strategy, innovation, roadmap delivery, and execution within the rapidly evolving digital asset and payments space. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the global payments and digital asset ecosystems, combined with a strong commercial awareness to manage the development of innovative, end to end solutions. The incumbent will have remit over the product lifecycle from strategy to execution including regulatory readiness to ensure alignment with business objectives, and superior customer experience.
This position will foster cross-functional collaboration, manage a dynamic cluster portfolio, and act as a champion for the products both internally and externally.
What you’ll do:
- Own and deliver the UK and EU product strategy for digital asset payments, including stablecoin acceptance (C2B, B2C, B2B) and fiat-to-digital asset payouts, influencing long-term strategic direction and investment allocation in partnership with the Global digital assets payments team and EU and UK payments product team.
- The UK location is supported by the footprint for Services and Payments team and services ACRM supporting the Digital Asset product strategy.
- This includes driving compliance with UK and EU applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and managing control issues with transparency, particularly in relation to AML frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Execution: Own and deliver the UK and EU product strategy for digital asset payments, including stablecoin acceptance (C2B, B2C, B2B) and fiat-to-digital asset payouts, influencing long-term strategic direction and investment allocation in partnership with the Global digital assets payments team and EU and UK payments product team.
- P&L Management: Manage the profit and loss (P&L) for the digital asset payments portfolio, including reporting, analysing financials, and ensuring achievement of financial goals.
- Partnerships & Alliances: Lead the development and expansion of strategic partnerships and alliances within the digital product ecosystem to create innovative and integrated offerings.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Drive action and foster strong collaborative relationships across various departments and leadership levels, including Operations, Technology, Sales, Control Functions, 1st Line of Defence (1LOD), and 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD) to achieve goals and maintain a robust operational model.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Appropriately assess and mitigate risk when making business decisions, demonstrating strong consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with UK and EU applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and managing control issues with transparency, particularly in relation to AML frameworks.
- Regulatory Awareness and Communication: Work in partnership with the cluster product and compliance teams to ensure awareness of the evolving and emerging regulatory environment in the EU and UK. Ensuring ongoing communication of the environment across Payments.
- Strategic Roadmapping & Innovation: Develop and own UK and EU execution and commercialisation roadmaps for digital asset payment products, ensuring a holistic perspective on existing processes and identifying areas for technological advancements and continuous improvement.
- Market Evangelism & Positioning: Act as a key evangelist for the digital asset payment products, driving visibility and positioning within the marketplace and managing product-level relationships.

What we’ll need from you:
- Experience: Significant progressive experience in product management within the financial services industry, with a strong focus on payments, digital assets, and/or emerging technologies.
- Product Expertise: Relevant product experience with deep knowledge of digital assets, stablecoins, payment systems, and familiarity with the broader industry ecosystem.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive initiatives through to successful completion, and effectively supervise and hold others accountable.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, maintain a holistic and challenging view of processes and procedures, with a focus on risk mitigation, effectiveness, and scalability.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex messages effectively to diverse audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across various departments and leadership levels.
- Proactiveness & Time Management: Proven ability to take initiative, operate effectively at high levels with minimal direction, and manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
- Risk & Compliance Acumen: Strong understanding of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) control frameworks and regulatory compliance.
- Education: Bachelor's/University degree required. Master's degree preferred.
