We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Software Engineering to join our team. This role is located in London.
Overview
The Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Software Engineer serves as a strategic technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and implementing robust, secure, and scalable software solutions. This role integrates advanced technical expertise with hands-on development, utilizing technologies including Java, Spring Boot Microservices, Kafka, and Angular. Collaboration with internal business units and cross-functional teams is essential to deliver impactful data-driven and product initiatives. The successful candidate will advocate for innovative technology approaches and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Additionally, this position contributes to the formulation and execution of technology strategies, upholds software quality standards, and fosters ongoing improvement and professional development.

Direct the development and implementation of full-stack applications using Core/Advanced Java, Kafka, and Angular. Architect and engineer solutions employing Test Driven Development within the Spring Boot Microservices framework. Build dynamic, responsive front-end applications in Angular, ensuring seamless integration of components across systems. Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning the technology stack promptly and effectively. Collaborate with business partners, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to elicit requirements and deliver targeted solutions. Guide code reviews, ensuring adherence to security, privacy, and quality standards. Develop comprehensive flowcharts, layouts, and technical documentation; maintain current knowledge of software functionality and emerging technologies. Advocate for creative technology solutions and mentor junior engineering talent. Remain abreast of technological advancements, pursue continuous learning, and fulfill all required training obligations. Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate strategies pertaining to new technology adoption and integration.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Extensive experience of progressive software development, preferably within securities or financial services. Demonstrated proficiency in Java, Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Boot), design patterns, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs. Expertise in front-end development with Angular and a comprehensive understanding of both front-end and back-end languages, including Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, and JavaScript. Proven track record with unit testing frameworks, test-driven development methodologies, and application frameworks. Knowledge of containerization and deployment platforms (e.g., Docker, orchestration). Experience in Agile methodology including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, as well as developmental toolsets including GitLab, Junit, SonarQube, Splunk Ability to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities such as SQL Injection, XSS, and CSRF. Solid understanding of business impacts and effective management of system interdependencies. Strong communication, organizational, teamwork, and mentoring skills; critical thinking mindset with a focus on execution and continuous learning. Foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture, consistent with organizational values. Advanced problem-solving skills; capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
