About the role The Daily Mail is looking for a sharp, fast-thinking Senior Video Editor to help drive high-impact content seen by millions worldwide. You’ll be at the heart of our desk, turning major developing stories into compelling, must-watch edits at pace. From international headlines to ambitious original series, you’ll help shape how some of the biggest stories of the day are told in video. You’ll also play a key leadership role, helping oversee weekend and night-shift operations, supporting senior colleagues and driving editorial standards across the team.

Main Responsibilities Edit and publish short-form video for The Daily Mail's global audience Turn raw footage - from original reporting, wires, UGC and archive - into sharp, compelling narratives Develop in-depth video packages around major news events Add graphics, captions, subtitles and branding to elevate storytelling Pitch and package video ideas across news, politics, royals, showbiz and features Lead producers on weekend and night shifts, reviewing edits and maintaining editorial and production standards Build strong relationships across the newsroom and collaborate closely with reporters, producers and editors Generate ambitious new video concepts and identify opportunities around the day's biggest stories Ensure all content meets legal, copyright and compliance standards

Person Specification Proven ability to lead teams and maintain high standards under pressure Experience editing in a newsroom, digital publisher or similarly fast-paced environment Strong Premiere Pro skills Excellent editorial judgment and a sharp instinct for what makes stories resonate Understanding of audience engagement, SEO and digital storytelling Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
