We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities and our internal quality systems.
As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we now have an opportunity for a Vision Engineer to join our Operations Engineering Group, working across all aspects of the manufacturing area of the business.
The Role
The role of the Vision Engineer is to support our test strip and biosensor manufacturing processes. Provide an innovative approach to problem solving and stay abreast of current development in vision systems technology to ensure the most effective solutions are applied to problems.

The job holder will also be responsible for developing and promoting a Machine Vision strategy for the department. They will advise on the latest industry trends, methodologies, and emerging applications as well as lead on sourcing and supplier selection.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
