Responsibilities

As a Senior Waiter/Waitress in our Straits Kitchen Restaurant & Bar, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional, personalised experiences for every guest. You will act as a true ambassador of Pan Pacific London, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. In this role, you will combine outstanding customer service, strong attention to detail, and confident leadership skills. As a Senior Waiter/Waitress, you will support the team in maintaining high service standards while creating memorable and engaging dining experiences for our guests. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position, requiring a genuine passion for hospitality and a consistent commitment to excellence.

  • Follow restaurant standards, policies, and procedures consistently, working collaboratively with all team members to maintain Forbes Five-Star service excellence.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of:
    • All food items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages available in the restaurant.
    • Wines and champagnes available by the glass, as well as key selections from the wine list.
    • Appropriate glassware and garnishes for each beverage.
    • All menu items, including preparation methods, cooking times, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation standards, and pricing.
    • Daily specials and any unavailable items.
    • Restaurant layout, including table, seat, and station numbers, table set-ups, seating capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
    • Daily house count, arrivals, departures, and VIP reservations.
    • In-house group activities, including locations and timings.
    • Correct usage, handling, and maintenance of all restaurant equipment.
    • All departmental policies and service procedures.
  • Assist in welcoming and escorting guests to their tables in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring tables are prepared and presented to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Anticipate guest needs proactively, respond promptly to requests, and acknowledge all guests in a warm, attentive, and professional manner, regardless of business levels or time of day. Promote positive guest relations at all times.
  • Take and manage restaurant reservations and cancellations in line with departmental procedures when a Host/Hostess or senior colleague is unavailable, ensuring accuracy and professionalism at all times.
