The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of potable water utility infrastructure projects and play a key role in the continued growth of our Water Project Delivery function in our Southern region.

In this leadership position, you will oversee the successful post-sale delivery of water infrastructure projects while managing our Business-as-Usual (BAU) Water Project Delivery Team. You'll work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, providing strong project leadership, building effective relationships and ensuring issues are resolved proactively to maintain project performance and customer satisfaction.

Working in partnership with the Head of Project Delivery, you will also contribute to business planning, reporting, forecasting and KPI achievement, helping to drive operational excellence across the team. Key Responsibilities

  • Line management of the BAU Water Project Delivery Team in line with company policies
  • Direct management of BAU Water Project to support with team workload, and periods of absence or annual leave.
  • Responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient team structure in order to meet the business needs for the safe and effective adoption and construction delivery activities of BAU Water Project Delivery
  • Accountable for the BAU Water Project Delivery Team produces agreed documentation for all areas of the water delivery process through to final asset handover
  • Responsible for ensuring BAU Water Project Delivery supports both Sales and Delivery customer meetings on operational and technical matters including any wider Sales tender activities
  • Accountable for ensuring all BAU Water Project Delivery design activity is completed by accredited third parties and properly logged and reported in line with Guaranteed Standards of Performance (GSOP)
  • Manage and validate the capital budgets cost allocation against all projects by BAU Water Project Managers
  • Ensure financial controls are adhered to, including timely purchase order management, invoice review, and variance reporting are being undertaken across all of BAU Water Project Delivery
  • Responsible for ensuring that the team manages any issues or defects to resolution using company systems and procedures to meet regulatory standards
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless asset handover with all documentation and contracts in place and that installation standards and pre-water on commissioning and testing meets or exceeds regulatory requirements
  • Provide ad hoc operational support to the Sales Team and Head of Project Delivery on all BAU Water Project site enquiries or escalations
  • Implementing robust processes and reporting to identify, report, and mitigate business risks throughout the Project lifecycle
  • Ensuring assets are delivered to best industry standards

About You

  • 5 years’ experience of managing in a Project Capacity within a SLP or Water Company
  • Demonstrable experience of the design and construction of potable water infrastructure
  • A good working knowledge of the Water Industry NAV process
  • Excellent knowledge of multi utility industry asset standards such as NJUG
  • Commercial contract management experience (or qualifications)
  • Strong people management skills with experience of developing and managing personnel
  • Financial acumen and a track record of adhering to budgets
  • Significant experience and knowledge of H&S management and audits
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the business and the processes required to be compliant with them
  • Expert knowledge of asset adoption and delivery legal requirements
  • Strong computer and reporting skills
