Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business within their Womenswear division, to focus on trend led Tailoring and Formalwear.
I am looking for aspirational portfolios which explore future trends and interesting new shapes for Women's fashion, whilst also being commercial.
Responsibilities
Senior Womenswear Designer- Tailoring- The Role:
- Design commercial, fashion focused womenswear collections for one of their largest and most exciting high street accounts.
- Work across the full breadth of womenswear tailoring and formal collections.
- Research and identify the latest key trends, catwalk influences to inspire and develop new ranges, and to compliment and drive forward existing product lines.
- Liaise with the customer on all aspects of design work and in turn help to develop product that is right for the customer by working with all of the product, fabric and graphic teams.
- Work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with retail buying and merchandising teams to source, present and select commercial ranges.
- Travel overseas on inspirational trips, and also to factories and mills for development purposes.
- Source relevant fabrics to meet the design requirements.
- Create specs/tech packs for their factories.
- Ensure the critical path is adhered to and keep on top of all key dates.
- Liaise with factories and overseas offices.
- Develop trend packs/ colour inspiration.

Requirements
Senior Womenswear Designer- Tailoring- The Candidate:
- Solid previous womenswear design experience working within Tailoring.
- 5+ years’ experience since graduating from University.
- A design-related Degree.
- A real eye for fashion and translating trends.
- Well organized, confident communicator, experienced in managing priorities and liaising with internal teams and external suppliers etc.
- Proficient on Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to change and able to work closely with buyers and present ideas, requiring a confident, 'can do' attitude to your work.
- Experience of working closely with overseas factories.
- Effective communicator & team player, confident at building good internal and external relationships.
- Happy to travel regularly to overseas factories and suppliers.
