Working across sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, hospitality and specialist manufacturing, we pride ourselves on delivering practical, innovative and client-focused engineering solutions.

As our workload continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior / Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Gateshead office and play a key role in leading projects, developing client relationships and mentoring our engineering teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer looking to take the next step within a growing consultancy where you can genuinely influence projects, people and the future direction of the business.

You will be responsible for leading electrical design projects from concept through to completion while managing project teams and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, design teams and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of projects across a variety of sectors, through all RIBA stages.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and technicians within project teams.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers and other design disciplines.
  • Attend client, design and site meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Support business development activities and identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
  • Review and approve technical designs, specifications and calculations.
  • Ensure projects comply with current regulations, industry standards and best practice.

You will have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Significant experience within a Building Services Consultancy.
  • Proven experience managing project teams and delivering complex building services projects.
  • Excellent client liaison and communication skills.
  • Experience managing project programmes, resources and budgets.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design.
  • Experience producing and reviewing electrical calculations, specifications and reports.
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

  • Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership.
  • Experience using industry-standard design software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and low-carbon building design.
