Senior / Lead Service Architect – Infrastructure Access & Privileged Access
Contract: Initial contract until the end of the year (with strong extension potential)
Location: Remote with monthly travel to site

We're supporting a leading financial services organisation on a major Identity & Access Management transformation and are looking for an experienced Senior or Lead Service Architect to define the future of enterprise infrastructure access.
This is a strategic architecture role focused on service design, not PAM engineering or tooling implementation. You'll be responsible for designing how privileged and infrastructure access should operate across the organisation, bringing together people, processes, technology, data and governance into a single, risk-based access service.
If you have experience designing enterprise services across IAM, infrastructure, cyber security and operational controls, this is an opportunity to shape a critical capability within a large-scale transformation programme.
The Role
You'll design the end-to-end service architecture covering privileged and infrastructure access across servers, databases, cloud platforms, network devices and administrative environments.
Working with stakeholders across IAM, infrastructure, cyber security, engineering, service management, risk and audit, you'll define how access is requested, approved, granted, monitored, reviewed and removed while replacing fragmented manual processes with a consistent, risk-driven operating model.
This role is focused on enterprise service architecture rather than ownership of any specific PAM platform or day-to-day operational support.

Key Responsibilities
- Design the enterprise service architecture for infrastructure and privileged access
- Define the target service model, including processes, governance, controls and operating model
- Create risk-based access models covering approval routes, monitoring requirements and review frequencies
- Design access patterns including:
- Standing access
- Just-in-Time (JIT) access
- Time-bound access
- Emergency and Break Glass access
- Third-party access
- Cloud administration
- Define how identity, infrastructure, application and risk data are used to drive access decisions
- Design least privilege and access governance controls with strong auditability and traceability
- Define evidence models using workflows, approvals, logs and access records
- Identify current-state gaps and produce the roadmap towards the target service
- Work closely with Architecture, IAM, Infrastructure, Cloud, Cyber Security, Engineering, Risk and Audit teams
- Challenge legacy access processes and drive standardisation across the organisation

- Exception and Break Glass Designs
- Transition Roadmap
What We're Looking For
We're looking for experienced Service Architects with expertise in several of the following:
- Enterprise Service Architecture or Service Design
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Security or Infrastructure Architecture
- Designing services across people, process, technology, data and controls
- Risk-based access and control models
- Infrastructure environments including servers, databases, cloud platforms, network devices and containers
- Identity data, CMDBs, application inventories and entitlement models
- Access request, approval, provisioning, monitoring, certification and revocation processes
- Working within highly regulated or heavily audited environments
