As a Earthing Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in designing safe, compliant, and robust earthing solutions for major projects across the UK and Europe, helping protect people, assets, and business-critical operations.

This is an opportunity to apply your specialist expertise at the highest level while working on technically demanding projects that require innovative thinking and sound engineering judgement.

  • Collaborate with leading power systems professionals

Essential Skills

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status or demonstrable progress towards professional registration.
  • Extensive experience in earthing and grounding design for HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ENA, BS EN, and other relevant grounding standards.
  • Proficiency using specialist software such as CDEGS, XGSLab, SafeGrid or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of touch potential, reach touch voltage, step potential, fault current distribution, soil resistivity analysis, and electrical safety requirements.

Desirable skills

  • Experience in electromagnetic interference (EMI) studies for overhead transmission lines, cable systems, and electrified railways.
  • Proficiency in using various CDEGS modules, including RESAP, MALZ, HIFREQ, SPLITS, TRALIN, and FCDIST.
  • Experience in the design of earthing systems for data centres and AIS/GIS substations.
  • Experience in soil resistivity measurements
