Senior/Principal EIA Consultant – Impact Assessment Department

This role is your perfect fit if you’re passionate about Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and eager to co-ordinate statutory and non-statutory analyses for major development projects spanning sectors like property, infrastructure, and more.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior/Principal EIA Consultant, your expertise will shape key decisions in the property sector lifecycle, from concept feasibility to compliant compliance:
Key Responsibilities

Project leadership:
- Manage ** Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)** for residential, commercial, infrastructure, and national projects
- Own programme and budget oversight for multi-disciplinary teams
- Align with UK environmental consenting processes, onshore and offshore regulations
- Supervise task streams such as baseline data collection and sustainability research

Reporting & stakeholder expertise:
- Author, coordinate, and review technical reports
- Liaise with officials, local communities, and regulatory bodies on constraints and constraints mitigation

Business development & thought leadership:
- Help secure new opportunities through tender proposals and fee packages
- Represent Ramboll at client meetings, networking events, and projects dialogues

People & strategy support:
- Mentor junior consultants to foster growth and collaboration
- Partner with internal technical experts across Ramboll’s global networks

**About Your Team
You’ll be part of Ramboll’s UK Impact Assessment department—a dynamic, high-impact Service Line driving global specialisation in environmental assessment, consistency, and sustainability. With 400+ scientists across 19 locations, the UK team collaborates with an extensive ecosystem of:
- Multinationals and utilities
- Public bodies (central/local government)
- Sustainability-led institutions

What We Need from You
Core Requirements
- Degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or related disciplines (MSc advantageous)
- Proven experience delivering EIA studies, sustainability reports, or environmental strategies
- Awareness of UK environmental laws, including Nature Conservation, Water Resources Act, and strategic plans
- Communications skills to engage with diverse stakeholders—the ability to explain complex topics clearly
- Demonstrable passion for inclusive, cross-disciplinary work
