We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior/Principal E&P (Fixed Plant) Engineer to join our expanding Rail Engineering Services team to lead and support the wider team on the technical delivery for a number of our diverse portfolio of rail engineering projects across the UK and Internationally.
You will be a dedicated team player who has the initiative to be pro-active in their approach, experienced and takes responsibility to deliver, both on time and within budget. You will be someone who applies an analytical approach to problem solving and works with a positive can-do attitude.
In Undertaking This Role You Will
Lead the Fixed Plant aspects within larger multi-disciplinary technical teams for a number of our projects and support resolution of complex technical problems Oversee and co-ordinate the development of Fixed Plant designs across all stages of the design lifecycle With support from the wider technical team, provide technical advice to both internal company disciplines as well as clients. Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve desired project outcomes Potential to undertake CRE roles as required in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009 Provide guidance, support and mentorship to Early Career Professionals
YOUR TEAM
You will work on exciting and inspiring projects for a variety of Infrastructure Owners, National and Local Governments, Public and Private Sector clients including Network Rail, TfGM, Translink & Iarnród Éireann , Regional Transport Bodies and Contractors together with Overseas Clients. You will be part of a Fixed Plant Team, within our Electrification and Plant (E&P) Service Line, that gets involved in asset renewals and new Fixed Plant infrastructure through all stages of design.
You Will Be Part Of a Team Of Professionally Qualified, Talented And Diverse Individuals That Work Great Together On The Design And Integration Of Fixed Plant Systems And Sub-systems Including
Fixed Plant Development Design, equivalent to the early ES Network Rail Levels, leading to Approval in Outline (AiO) and subsequently Approval in Principle (AiP). Fixed Plant Detailed Design, equivalent to Network Rail Level ES5, suitable for Approved for Construction (AFC) Level. Application of the latest Industry Standards, and particularly BS 7671 and NR/L2/ELP/21085, as appropriate, in the design of Railway Signalling Power, Lineside LV Power, Points Heating, Earthing and Bonding, Lighting and Station Electrical Systems Electrical Circuit Diagrams and Calculations. Production, on the behalf of Clients, of Fixed Plant Requirement Documents. Review, on the behalf of Clients, of Fixed Plant Specifications and Designs produced by others

We are actively seeking recognised Engineers who have previous experience in the Railway Fixed Plant discipline
What We Would Be Looking For You To Demonstrate...
Experience in delivery of more than one of the areas of expertise listed above. Experience across the full project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies to detailed design and implementation. An ability to manage multiple workstreams, balancing priorities, making value and delivery judgements / decisions to meet or exceed our client’s expectations. Technical knowledge to be able to challenge individuals and teams on outputs and deliverables A chartered professional, or working towards chartership, with a relevant Institution and a track record of mentoring and developing staff. Experience of undertaking CRE roles or competency to do so. Understanding of Client Engineering assurance processes
