Are you passionate about delivering protection solutions that keep critical electrical networks safe, resilient and reliable?
As a Protection Specialist, you'll become a recognised technical authority, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from hyperscale data centres and critical infrastructure through to utility, renewable energy and industrial power systems.
This opportunity is ideal for engineers with experience in transmission and distribution networks, substations, renewable energy developments, industrial facilities or mission-critical environments who are looking to expand their influence and technical impact. You'll work alongside leading specialists, solve complex engineering challenges and help define protection philosophies and technical standards that support some of the most important infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe.

Essential Skills
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status or actively progressing towards chartership.
- Extensive experience designing and reviewing HV, MV, and LV protection systems.
- Advanced expertise in power system protection, including protection coordination studies, relay setting calculations, unit protection schemes (transformer, busbar and cable differential protection, restricted earth fault (REF), distance and feeder protection), and fault investigation through systematic root-cause analysis.
- Proven capability to develop and review protection philosophies and schemes, ANSI protection function selection, trip matrices, interlocking logic, intertrip schemes, and breaker failure protection, etc.
- Protection and metering CT/VT sizing studies.
- Proficiency in software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, SKM, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of UK and European electrical standards, grid codes, and regulatory requirements.
