Job Title: Senior Town Planner

Location: Bristol

Penguin Recruitment is proud to be working with one of the UK's leading multidisciplinary consultancies, to recruit an experienced Senior Town Planner for its growing Bristol team. The Opportunity

As a Senior Town Planner, you'll become a key member of an established planning team working across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning infrastructure, energy, transport, regeneration and development. You'll collaborate with environmental, engineering and design specialists to deliver innovative planning solutions that help shape sustainable communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support planning projects across a wide range of sectors.
  • Act as Planning Lead or Lead Consultant on multidisciplinary commissions.
  • Manage projects from inception through to successful delivery.
  • Prepare planning strategies, reports and technical documentation.
  • Support bids, tender submissions and framework opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior planners within the team.
  • Work closely with specialists across environmental, engineering and design disciplines.
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the planning team.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant Planning degree or equivalent qualification.
  • MRTPI status or be working towards Chartership.
  • Experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, including TCPA, DCO or TWAO applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines.
  • Experience preparing high-quality planning reports and presenting to clients.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to work within multidisciplinary teams.
