Senior/Staff Fullstack Engineer, Backend Leaning
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior/Staff Fullstack Engineer, Backend Leaning based in United Kingdom.
As a Senior/Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling innovative AI-powered SaaS products that transform how businesses communicate and operate. This role combines deep backend expertise with fullstack capabilities, giving you ownership over complex projects from concept through delivery. You will work closely with product teams to solve meaningful commercial challenges, shape product direction, and deliver impactful features to a global customer base. Operating in a high-performing engineering environment, you will influence technical decisions, improve engineering practices, and help build systems designed for scale, reliability, and long-term growth.
Accountabilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex product initiatives, from initial discovery and design through implementation, testing, and safe production releases.
- Develop and maintain backend systems while contributing across the stack, including client applications and customer-facing product experiences.
- Design, build, and scale reliable SaaS features using modern engineering practices and a strong focus on quality.
- Work closely with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Break down large, ambiguous projects into iterative deliverables that can be validated, measured, and improved over time.
- Use data and product insights to evaluate feature performance, understand business impact, and make informed decisions.
- Contribute to technical strategy by identifying future engineering challenges and building capabilities to support long-term product evolution.
- Drive architectural decisions, improve engineering processes, and promote high standards for code quality and system reliability.
- Mentor and support other engineers while contributing to a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.
- Help develop products involving advanced technologies such as AI-powered workflows, video generation, experimentation platforms, billing systems, and real-time collaboration.

Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years at senior or technical leadership level.
- Proven experience working in high-performing engineering teams operating at scale, whether in a fast-growing company or an established engineering organization.
- Strong backend engineering expertise with the ability and willingness to contribute across the full stack.
- Experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade SaaS products with complex technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, and production engineering practices.
- Experience delivering customer-facing features and collaborating closely with product teams to solve commercial problems.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
- Experience working with AI-powered products, developer platforms, video systems, experimentation tools, billing platforms, or real-time collaboration systems is highly valued.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring smaller engineering teams is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, international environment.

- Competitive compensation package starting at approximately €130,000 / £130,000 / CHF 130,000 base salary plus RSUs, depending on location and experience.
