Your new role
As SEO Lead, you will take ownership of the organic search strategy across a portfolio of brands, driving long-term, sustainable growth in visibility, traffic, and revenue. This is a key, hands-on role with strategic scope, where you will lead SEO across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms. You will ensure the business is positioned effectively wherever customers search, from Google and Bing to AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and wider performance teams, you will embed SEO at the core of the marketing function, integrating it with paid media, content, and CRO to maximise impact.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the SEO strategy across multiple brands, driving organic growth and commercial performance
- Own SEO performance metrics including rankings, traffic, conversion, and revenue contribution
- Identify growth opportunities across content, technical SEO, and authority building
- Optimise for both traditional search and AI-led discovery (GEO / AEO)
- Shape content strategy, identifying gaps and guiding teams on SEO and AI optimisation best practices
- Lead technical SEO initiatives, including site health, indexing, performance, and structured data
- Collaborate with paid media, CRO, and content teams to deliver an integrated search strategy
- Establish reporting frameworks, using data and insights to inform decision-making and investment

What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in SEO (technical, on-site, and content) with a track record of driving measurable growth
- Strong understanding of the evolving search landscape, including AI search and generative results
- Experience with GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear commercial actions
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams
- Experience within regulated sectors such as insurance, financial services, or e-commerce is advantageous
