Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office) Salary: Up to £45,000 (full-time, permanent position)
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and commercially minded SEO Manager to join a dynamic retail and eCommerce agency in London. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on blending strategic foresight with hands-on execution and understands how SEO drives tangible performance for consumer brands.
As the SEO Manager, you’ll lead SEO strategy across a portfolio of retail and eCommerce clients, focusing on growing organic visibility, traffic, and revenue. You’ll collaborate with content, paid media, digital PR, analytics, and client services teams to develop integrated search strategies that deliver measurable results.
This role suits someone with agency experience who can confidently manage client relationships, oversee SEO roadmaps, and balance technical SEO, on-page optimisation, and content-led initiatives effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute SEO strategies for retail and eCommerce clients
- Own day-to-day management of SEO campaigns, ensuring alignment with client goals and commercial KPIs
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis and opportunity mapping to identify growth areas
- Lead on-site SEO recommendations, including:
- Site architecture optimisation
- Internal linking strategies
- Metadata and content optimisation
- Category/product page improvements
- Perform technical SEO audits and collaborate with developers/technical teams to implement fixes
- Monitor organic rankings, traffic, conversions, and revenue, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports with strategic commentary and clear next steps
- Collaborate with content teams to develop SEO-driven content strategies, supporting category growth, seasonal campaigns, and evergreen performance
- Assist in website migrations, launches, and major technical changes from an SEO perspective
- Stay updated on Google algorithm updates, SEO trends, and retail/eCommerce search developments
- Build strong client relationships, presenting strategic vision, results, and recommendations with clarity
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the agency’s SEO function growth

About You
You’ll have:
✅ Proven experience in a SEO Manager, Senior SEO Executive, or Senior SEO Specialist role ✅ A background in agency SEO, preferably within retail or eCommerce ✅ Strong expertise in technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content strategy, and site performance ✅ Experience optimising large eCommerce platforms, including category and product pages ✅ Comfortable analysing performance data and deriving actionable insights ✅ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience managing stakeholders or clients ✅ Commercial awareness, linking SEO metrics to broader business outcomes (e.g., traffic, conversions, revenue) ✅ Proficiency in multitasking within a fast-paced agency environment, managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
