SEO Manager – Travel Marketing Agency
Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 1 day per week in office) Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Reporting to: Head of Digital
About Us
We are a growing digital marketing agency specialising in the travel and tourism sector. Our clients range from tour operators, destination marketing organisations, travel technology providers, hospitality brands, and online travel businesses.
We combine data-driven strategy, creative content, and technical expertise to help clients increase visibility, bookings, and revenue.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced SEO Manager to lead organic search strategy across a portfolio of travel-sector clients.
The Role
As SEO Manager, you will take ownership of SEO performance across multiple client accounts, developing and implementing strategies that drive measurable business growth. You will work closely with content, paid media, development, and client services teams to ensure SEO is integrated throughout our clients' digital marketing activities.
This is a hybrid role, with one day per week spent in our Manchester office and the remainder worked remotely.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy
- Develop and deliver SEO strategies tailored to individual client objectives.
- Identify opportunities to increase organic traffic, visibility, leads, and bookings.
- Conduct technical SEO audits and oversee implementation of recommendations.
- Stay up to date with search engine algorithm changes and industry developments.

Technical SEO
- Manage site audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, and performance.
- Work with developers to resolve technical SEO issues.
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals and website performance.
- Ensure best-practice implementation across client websites.
Content & Travel SEO
- Lead keyword research and content planning initiatives.
- Develop content strategies targeting destinations, travel experiences, and commercial search opportunities.
- Support content teams with SEO briefs and optimisation recommendations.
- Identify seasonal and emerging travel search trends.
Reporting & Analytics
- Track and report on key SEO KPIs, including rankings, traffic, conversions, and revenue.
- Use GA4, Search Console, Looker Studio, and leading SEO platforms to provide actionable insights.
- Present performance reports and strategic recommendations to clients.
Client Management
- Act as the lead SEO contact for assigned clients.
- Build strong client relationships through regular communication and strategic consultation.
- Lead SEO discussions during review meetings and planning sessions.
- Support new business opportunities with audits, proposals, and pitch presentations.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in SEO, preferably within an agency environment.
- Strong technical SEO expertise.
- Proven experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Excellent knowledge of:
- Google Analytics 4
- Google Search Console
- Screaming Frog
- Ahrefs and/or Semrush
- Looker Studio
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience working with travel, tourism, hospitality, or leisure brands.
- Understanding of international SEO.
- Experience with digital PR and authority-building campaigns.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted SEO and content workflows.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
