This remote, UK-based position requires candidates to reside in the United Kingdom, inclusive of local business hours (GMT/BST). Clients are primarily UK-based, with occasional international engagements.
The Role: Account Strategist, Content & SEO
Internally, this is the client-facing, content-focused strategist role responsible for shaping end-to-end client strategies while executing day-to-day deliverables. What You’ll Do
1. Strategic Excellence & Holistic Planning
- Develop and refine custom strategies for clients using historical performance, ongoing campaigns, and marketing goals to achieve Directive’s non-solicited metrics (NSMs).
- Leverage project phases (e.g., onboarding, growth, retention) to build foundational frameworks.
- Ensure strategies align with value-driven objectives, including:
- Lifecycle Marketing
- Marketplace Optimisations
- Paid Media & Social Activation
- PR Integration
- Collaborate closely with your Associate Director (AsD) to address challenges impacting execution.
2. Ideation & Creative Direction
- Lead ideation for compelling campaigns rooted in competitor benchmarking and audience insights.
- Craft data-driven creative briefs with clear directional focus for Writers and Designers.

3. Revenue-Driven Goal Setting
- Define tailored goals using data sources:
- Google Analytics
- SEMRush
- Ahrefs
- CRM systems
- Goals must be reviewed/approved by your AsD before presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Project & Task Orchestration
- Oversee project execution within Asana (required), including:
- Task delegation to Specialists, Writers, and Designers
- Ensuring timely completion and client alignment
- Facilitating frequent check-ins between team members and clients.
- Partner with Project Managers (where present) to streamline execution.
5. Client & Internal Partnerships
- Build trust-based relationships with clients, going beyond service delivery to understand their business challenges and aspirations.
- Maintain consistent communication (bi-weekly 1:1s, asynchronous updates, and roadmap/deliverable timelines).
- Proactively flag roadblocks or opportunities to increase MRR, upsell/cross-sell, and adopt referrals.
6. Data-Driven Reporting
- Provide clear reporting aligned with Directive cadence:
- Bi-weekly NSM performance & deliverable updates (meeting notes mandatory)
- Monthly performance reviews
- Quarterly reports
- Bi-annual business reviews
What You’ll Bring
- Practical experience in SEO and content strategy, including:
- Keyword research, on-page optimisation, and link-building strategies.
- Ability to translate complex metrics (e.g., SEM tools, Google Analytics) into actionable insights.
- Measurable track record demonstrating the ability to:
- Drive SEO performance (Share of SERP growth).
- Generate LTV:CAC optimisation feedback.
- Track and improve customer acquisition & lifetime value.
- Strong stakeholder management—able to own client relationships while aligning with internal teams.
- Technical fluency with tools:
- Google Search Console
- SEMRush/Ahrefs (plus crawling tools like Screaming Frog).
- Organisationally agile—balancing project timelines, cross-team dependencies, and client immediacy.
- Breadth of knowledge in digital marketing trends, including dive delve into AI’s role in operations and reach.

Work Environment Requirements
A remote-first agency, Directives accommodates UK local hours. Future expectations include:
