Service Administrator – Cummins Berkshire, UK

About the Role
We are seeking a talented Service Administrator to join our Cummins Berkshire team. In this critical role, you will serve as the primary interface between customers and internal teams, ensuring seamless service delivery, operational efficiency, and compliance with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Treat as the first point of contact for customers via phone and email, fostering positive relationships and resolving service inquiries with promptness and professionalism.
- Coordinate service events (scheduled and unplanned) while efficiently allocating Field and Shop Technicians to meet customer and operational demands.
- Maintain service documentation—creating, updating, and tracking work orders in systems such as SAP and Cummins Guidanz.
- Monitor and manage Work in Progress (WIP), ensuring timely follow-ups, accuracy in documentation, and completion of service activities.
- Raise and verify service invoices for retail and warranty repairs, adhering to Segment and Branch Aftermarket Operations (AOP) targets.
- Escalate technical issues to Cummins CARE while collaborating with internal teams to ensure swift resolutions and customer satisfaction.
- Support operational KPIs by tracking service standards, reporting progress, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) with Field and Shop Technicians, ensuring full HSE compliance.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify service opportunities and contribute to business growth.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
Skills & Experience:
- Proven customer service background, with the ability to:
- Build lasting customer relationships,
- Provide customer-focused solutions, and
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Working knowledge of SAP and experience managing service administration, including work orders, documentation, and invoicing.
- Familiarity with warranty processes—including handling retail and warranty repairs.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to:
- Interpret key financial indicators,
- Prioritize workloads, and
- Support operational and business performance goals.
- Technical understanding of engines and service operations to assist with escalations and technical inquiries.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience under applicable regulatory standards.
- Significant relevant work experience (or specialized skills acquired through education, training, or hands-on experience).
Preferred (but not strictly required):
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, aftermarket, or heavy-duty equipment service environment.
- Exposure to HSE compliance in industrial or technical roles.
Working Environment
- 100% on-site—due to the operational and job-specific nature of the role, no remote work is permitted.
