Service Advisor – Motor Dealership Southampton
Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role
Pembrook Resourcing are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Service Advisor to join a busy motor dealership in Southampton, an opportunity ideal for someone with strong communication skills in the motor trade seeking growth within a professional and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving as the first customer contact – Greeting and assisting vehicle owners at the dealership front desk.
- Coordinating vehicle bookings – Booking cars into the wash shop and workshops; organising repair and service schedules.
- Maintaining customer updates – Keeping clients appraised of vehicle progress via daytime check-ins.
- Collaborating with technicians – Liaising directly with the workshop team to understand and clarify repair needs.
- Driving value sales – Upselling additional services, maintenance packages, or products where beneficial and opportunity arises.
- Managing salon workflows – Completing job cards and invoices; handling all associated administrative duties.
- Prioritising service excellence – Ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and smooth workflows.

Requirements
- Candidate profile: Veteran or passionate trade newcomer – Previous experience as a Service Advisor in the motor trade is essential; no substitute will suffice.
- Communication: Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional telephone manner.
- Work performance: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment with minimal distractions.
- Administration & organisation: Strong administrative and time-management skills to juggle multiple customer/vehicle queries efficiently.
- Attitude: Constructive, solution-oriented, and personable approach to challenges.
- Licencing: Full UK driving licence – mandatory for workshop access and employee mobility needs.
