Company Description

W R Davies Motors is a long-established family business that began in Mid-Wales in 1924 and remains family-led today. The group has grown to 12 franchised dealerships, offering a full range of motoring services including new and used vehicle sales, servicing, MOT, parts, accident repair, rental, and finance. Dealerships represent leading brands such as Ford, Renault, Dacia, Toyota, Nissan, Citroen, and DS across North Wales and the Midlands. Team members are encouraged to uphold strong family values, focusing on customer care, trust, and long-term relationships.

Role Description

The Service Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Stafford working within the dealership’s service department to support customers and the workshop team. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Greeting customers
  • Understanding their service and repair needs
  • Accurately recording work requests

  • Preparing job cards
  • Scheduling workshop bookings
  • Coordinating with technicians
  • Keeping customers updated on progress, costs, and timelines

The Service Advisor will:

  • Explain service recommendations
  • Handle invoicing and payment
  • Manage warranty and service plan queries
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

This position also supports the promotion of dealership services, maintains accurate records, and follows company processes and health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and explain technical information clearly.
  • Experience in an automotive service, parts, or dealership environment, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities to handle bookings, paperwork, and multiple customer requests.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle servicing and repairs, or a willingness to learn automotive terminology and processes.
  • Competence with computer systems, including dealership management or booking software, email, and standard office applications.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing documentation, estimates, and invoices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, sales teams, and management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible, solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Previous experience in a service advisor or similar role is an advantage; relevant vocational or industry qualifications are beneficial.
  • Full, valid driver’s license preferred to support vehicle movements and test drives when needed.
