Role Description: Service and Breakdown Engineer
Location: Leicester (full-time, on-site role) This position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults on industrial process chillers and air conditioning systems, including emergency breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on installed systems
- Complete service visits as per contract requirements
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Liaise with customers on-site, providing clear updates on work progress
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work carried out
- Report recurring issues and collaborate with mechanical pipe fitters and electricians to deliver effective solutions
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs
Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical skills in air conditioning, refrigeration, and industrial process cooling systems, including fault finding and repair
- Experience with installation, commissioning, and servicing of chillers and associated mechanical/electrical components
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices for on-site work
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Valid UK driving licence (with willingness to travel locally to customer sites)

Soft Skills & Work Style:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Experience with service contracts and maintenance scheduling is beneficial
Formal Qualifications:
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in:
- Refrigeration
- Air conditioning
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Familiarity with basic IT tools for reporting, scheduling, and documentation
