About the Role

We are looking for an experienced service and maintenance engineer to join us on a permanent basis to support with scheduled upgrades, installs and repairs on fire alarm systems for our prestigious clients in and around the London area.

The ideal person will have a flexible approach to work, who can, on occasion, participate in an out of hours call out rota.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue ‘Great, not Good’ in fire safety services
  • Be accountable for the quality system as well as providing excellent customer service
  • Service, maintain and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) in accordance with the relevant British Standards
  • Accurately complete engineer service reports
  • Report deficiencies or deviations in fire systems
  • Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with the procurement department to keep replenished and appropriately stocked
  • Have a Health & Safety mindset, looking at possible risks associated with the role and reporting any issues promptly
  • Complete a first fix where possible

Qualifications

  • FIA training (or equivalent required) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals

Required Skills

  • A full UK Driving License
  • Previous Fire Alarm Experience
  • Knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
  • Understanding of BS5839
  • Good level of IT literacy
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations
  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Collaborative working skills

Preferred Skills

  • Fire service experience

Pay range and compensation package

The role is full-time, and we are offering a competitive salary. This position will be based in the London Area with travel required to attend different sites. A full UK Driving License will be essential, and a company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
