Proton (Southern) Ltd is a well-established company with 50 years of experience specializing in the supply, service, and repair of commercial glasswashers and dishwashers. The company supports a diverse customer base, including NHS Trusts, local authorities, national and private care home providers, children’s day nurseries, and a wide range of High Street and independent hospitality venues. Proton (Southern) Ltd operates a nationwide network of skilled engineers, providing service and maintenance at competitive prices. The company is proud to service and repair any make of commercial glasswasher or dishwasher and also offers scheduled servicing, maintenance, and comprehensive staff training to support customers’ operational needs.

Role Description

The Service and Parts Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Southampton, responsible for supporting the efficient delivery of service and repair operations. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Coordinating engineer schedules
  • Ensuring timely ordering and availability of parts for commercial glasswashers and dishwashers

The role involves:

  • Maintaining accurate records of parts usage and inventory levels
  • Processing customer queries
  • Providing clear communication between customers, engineers, and internal teams

The coordinator will also assist with:

  • Preparing service documentation
  • Monitoring job progress
  • Proactive customer contact

Helping maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive and professional support.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to handle enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
  • Experience with Inventory Control and Parts Ordering, ensuring accurate stock management and timely supply of components.
  • Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate engineers, liaise with customers, and update internal records clearly.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail in scheduling, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Comfort with using office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, service management systems) to manage workflows and data.
  • Previous experience in a service coordination, parts administration, or similar role in technical or engineering environments is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of commercial catering equipment or related industries is an advantage but not essential; willingness to learn is important.
  • Ability to work on-site in Southampton and collaborate effectively with a small, dedicated team.
