Service Centre Supervisor
Service Centre Supervisor – Permanent Position

About the Role
We are seeking a Permanent Service Centre Supervisor to oversee operations at our Defence Equipment Service Life Extension Programme (SLEP) centre in Stafford. This role supports the delivery of high-quality maintenance and repairs across military equipment assets, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the SLEP Centre Manager, you will:
- Oversee the preparation, planning, and supervision of SLEP work, contributing to the overall delivery of Amey Defence Equipment initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a team of plant and HGV engineers, ensuring objectivity attainment and development.
- Maintain quality, legislative adherence, and continuous improvement in asset maintenance.
- Ensure high productivity and efficiency while aligning with strategic business objectives.
- Change back into SLEP principles, ensuring consistent service delivery across asset lines.
- Manage resource allocation, ensuring sufficient capacity for SLEP asset output (during weekdays and covering weekends as required).
- Lead quote preparation, approvals, and execution for repairs, ensuring compliance with KPIs and timelines.
- Drive ** continuerually reactive solutions** to rectify non-fair wear issues, warranty claims, and customer complaints while cleaning technical standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks of equipment before and after maintenance work.
- Chorus with third parties, subject matter experts, and stakeholders (including MO Evolving customer audiences) to resolve operations.
- Achieve a balance between workshop (75%) and office (25%) roles aligned with defined requirements.
- Liaise with relevant management to develop holayers, cost-effective solutions for equipment maintenance.
- Promote a culture of health, safety, and diversity, adhering to organisational values.

What You Will Bring
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or supervision of heavy plant, mobile heavy equipment (MHE), or HGV vehicles.
- Experience in a technical supervisory role, preferably within a service/engineering environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of driving excellence in customer service and continuous improvement.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification (City & Guilds qualifications welcomed).
- Valid driving licence (with HGV Class C desirable).
- Requirement for eligible MoD Security Clearance.
- Commercial acumen and financial awareness with cost-effective problem-solving approach.

- Emphasis on problem-solving and relationship skills, catering for diverse personnel within a team environment.
- Proficiency in health & safety compliance.
