Alexander Daniels is delighted to be partnering with a growing and highly successful property management business in Central Birmingham to recruit a Service Charge Accountant. The Opportunity

As Service Charge Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the accounting activities across a diverse property portfolio. Working closely with Property Managers and wider stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information and ensuring service charge accounts are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation, review, and management of annual service charge budgets.
  • Preparing year-end service charge accounts and expenditure reconciliations.
  • Completing bank, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitoring service charge arrears and supporting debt recovery processes.
  • Producing monthly and quarterly financial reports and variance analysis.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for leaseholders, clients, and auditors regarding financial queries.

About You

  • Previous experience within a Service Charge Accountant position.
  • A strong understanding of service charge accounting principles and relevant industry guidelines.
  • Excellent Excel and systems skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
