We’re excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for a Service and Commissioning Engineer based at our Great Yarmouth facility working within the Defence side of our business; Hayley DIRS.

About the role:

What we’re looking for in our Service and Commissioning Engineer

The Service and Commissioning Engineer role is based at our facility in Great Yarmouth.

This role is responsible for the after sales service, routine maintenance, breakdown support and repair response of all Hayley DIRS supplied X-ray products. Additionally responsible for in-house and on-site commissioning of new systems

A typical day could be carrying out routine service, maintenance, breakdown and repairs to inspection system products at customer work sites in both the UK and Ireland.

You’ll be diagnosing faults, recommending corrections and improvements where required.

Another key element of the role will be to assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and that could be development, commissioning and testing electro-mechanical - radiation elements of x-ray products.

Additional responsibilities will include;

  • Providing customer training in equipment preventative maintenance routines, fault finding and routine operation.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of stock X-ray equipment, demonstration systems and spare parts.
  • Completing reports, risk assessment and method statement documents (RAMS), other paperwork and records in line with Inspection Systems quality management system and customer requirements
  • On call for out-of-office support duties on a rotational basis, as and when required by customers

What we're looking for in our Service and Commissioning Engineer

  • A broad background knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering practice together with a high level of ‘hands on’ skill and competency
  • Competent in the safe use of electrical test and measurement equipment
  • Good general knowledge and implementation of associated QA and Safety management procedure
  • Full, clean, UK driving license
  • Ability to obtain SC or DV security clearance
  • HNC or HND Electrical Engineering
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification desirable
