Service Coordinator

Transport Service Coordinator

Salary: £28,000 per annum

  • Includes a 15% annual performance bonus
  • Plus Veolia benefits and pension Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8:30am – 5:00pm) Location: Basingstoke, RG24 8FB

We’re looking for a Transport Service Coordinator to:

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Transport Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

Operational & Customer Management

  • Day-to-day oversight of service delivery, including vehicle and route allocation
  • Customer & stakeholder engagement, maintaining transparent communication and reporting
  • Daily driver engagement, addressing challenges and ensuring operations run smoothly
  • Safety-first attitude: reporting hazards, managing container damage, and enforcing "stop the job" protocols if unsafe
  • Ensuring compliance: W&T Directives (WTD); transport licenses; and regulatory requirements

Team Collaboration & Monitoring

  • Collective briefings with frontline staff and escalate actions where needed
  • Processing debriefs to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Strong transport compliance knowledge (WTD, licensing, logistics)
  • Proven communication skills (managing interactions with drivers, staff, and customers)
  • Organisational talent—ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Familiarity with quality systems, such as ISO 9001 or equivalent
  • IT proficiency (basic experience with Google Workspace tools)
  • Keen attention to detail for compliance, safety, and vehicle/route tracking

Desirable Features

  • Previous experience in waste, transport, or logistics
  • Understanding of efficient routing and driver management software
