Service Coordinator (Weekday Nights)
Service Coordinator (Weekday Nights) – Rail Operations
The Service Coordinator (Weekday Nights) supports the operational control room during night-time weekend operations, focusing on workforce and plant allocation for planned and reactive works while ensuring compliance with rail operational requirements.
Hours
Sunday to Thursday nights: 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM (8-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate crews, vehicles, and equipment to planned and reactive works across the network.
- Liaise with the Duty Engineer for technical direction and escalation as required.
- Communicate clearly with field-based teams, project managers, and supervisors.
- Support the coordination of emergency response works during night shifts.
- Ensure effective shift handovers to daytime coordinators and Duty Engineers.
- Maintain compliance with safety, access, and competency requirements.
- Log all work accurately, including shift reports, delays, and completion notes.
- Monitor job progress in real time and update records on the operational management system.

Skills and Experience Required
✔ Preferred: Previous experience in a coordination, scheduling, or control room environment (rail, drainage, highways, or utilities preferred). ✔ Essential:
- Clear and confident communication, especially under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently during night operations.
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn internal systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
