The team plays an important role in maintaining accurate, reliable service data so that technology services are well understood, well governed and able to support the wider organisation effectively. By ensuring service data is structured, connected and trusted, the team helps reduce complexity, improve service visibility and strengthen operational performance across the business.
Role Summary
Job Title: Service Data Configuration Administrator
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a critical area of service data management and help strengthen the quality, visibility and reliability of technology information across the organisation. As Service Data Configuration Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the configuration management database, managing relationships between configuration items and service mappings, and improving the overall health of service data. This role is important because high-quality service data underpins effective governance, informed decision-making, service performance and long-term operational efficiency.

Key Role Responsibilities
You will be doing:
Maintaining the accuracy, integrity and ongoing quality of the configuration management database (CMDB). Managing configuration item records, relationships and service mappings to ensure data is complete, connected and reliable. Monitoring CMDB health and taking proactive steps to resolve data quality issues and improve data standards. Auditing service data regularly to identify gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement. Working with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure service and configuration data remains current, relevant and fit for purpose. Supporting the transition of work from external support arrangements into a focused internal capability. Helping to embed a more efficient, sustainable and well-governed approach to service data management across the business.

Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we will need you to bring:
Proven experience in service data, configuration management, CMDB administration or a closely related area within an enterprise IT environment. Strong understanding of configuration items, data relationships, service mapping and data governance principles. Experience maintaining and improving data quality, integrity and accuracy across operational technology datasets. The ability to audit, analyse and resolve data issues in a structured and detail-oriented way. Experience working across teams to gather, validate and maintain accurate technical or service-related data. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage ongoing priorities and maintain high standards in a business-as-usual environment. Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hands-on experience with an IT service management or CMDB platform, ideally within a complex business environment.
Location
This role is based in the UK, and we offer a flexible hybrid working model with regular attendance in the office to support collaboration, connection and effective team working.
