Cloud Service Delivery Manager – Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First Options Available
Base Location You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of:
- Reading (Forbury Place)
- Havant (Penner Road)
Salary & Benefits £77,488 – £91,285, plus benefits supporting finances, wellbeing, and family life
About the Role
The Cloud Service Delivery Manager is responsible for end-to-end operations and the continual improvement of SSE’s cloud platforms and services. This includes:
- End-to-end ownership and management of service performance, availability, capacity, incidents, and problems affecting service provision.
- Ensuring SSE’s cloud services portfolio meets:
- Customer requirements
- Regulatory policies
- Security standards
This is a critical operational role, overseeing processes and teams in day-to-day service management. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with business acumen to deliver sustainable value through cloud services.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end service delivery management for SSE’s cloud services
- Collaborate with technical leads, alongside internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors
- Ensure adherence to Operational Service Level Agreements (SLAs), covering:
- Internal support functions
- Third-party providers
- Service performance, availability, incidents, problems, changes, capacity, and continuity
- Implement mature reporting to measure service effectiveness using KPIs and operational metrics
- Oversee incident management, problem escalation, change processes, release planning, and configuration governance
- Improve cloud service management processes, policies, and standards, aligning with group ITSM (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standards
- Identify actionable improvement initiatives to enhance:
- Reliability
- Efficiency
- Cost-effectiveness

Requirements
- Proven track record in Operational or IT Service Management, preferably in a multi-hypervisor or multi-platform environment
- Experience with cloud ecosystems (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform—GCP) is desirable but not mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Communicate clearly and concisely, translating complex issues into actionable insights.
- Adapt communication styles to suit internal and external stakeholders
- drive engagement across multi-disciplinary teams
- Self-directed leadership:
- Proven ability to make data-backed decisions under pressure.
- Sponsor necessary adjustments to maintain focused outcomes and progressive delivery
- Operational leadership:
- Apply industry best practices such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and Service Integration and Management (SIAM)
