Service Design Architect (9 month Contract - Possible extension) – Outside IR35
We’re supporting a large-scale enterprise technology transformation and are looking for an experienced Service Design Architect to join on an initial 9-month contract.
This role will focus on designing and defining IT services across a complex technology landscape, ensuring services are scalable, supportable, secure, and aligned with both business and operational requirements. You’ll work closely with architecture, engineering, operations, and delivery teams to establish service models that enable successful technology adoption and long-term support.

- Design end-to-end IT service architectures for new and existing technology platforms.
- Define service operating models, support structures, and service transition plans.
- Create service design documentation covering support, monitoring, resilience, security, and governance.
- Work with technical architects, engineers, and operational teams to ensure services are supportable in production.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and service improvement opportunities.
- Ensure service designs align with ITIL and enterprise architecture principles.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Design Architect within complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, cloud, applications, and operational support models.
- Experience designing services across large-scale digital or technology transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of ITIL, service transition, service operations, and service management best practices.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Contract Details
- 9 month initial contract which will extend.
- Outside IR35.
- Hybrid working.
- Immediate start preferred.
