About the Role
Our Service Desk Lead is looking for a new Service Desk Analyst to join our team. You’ll be responsible for providing first line support to other team members on IT issues and issues with our core banking system (finova).
You’ll use your problem solving skills to triage, resolve and/or escalate incidents and requests as they come in, as well as supporting our self-serve processes within our core banking system such as product building, document updates and user access changes. You’ll be someone with a good understanding of IT administration and support. It would be beneficial to have an understanding of mortgages and savings and be driven to build on this knowledge, you’ll also care about providing excellent customer service and getting things right first time. You must be someone that challenge standards and always tries to understand the “why” behind our systems and processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
