Working Hours: 35 Hours Per Week (This role will include working every other weekend - either a Saturday or Sunday - plus one evening a week to 8pm )

Additional Payments: 6.7% Flexibility payment

Our beautifully refurbished Central Library offers a world-class library experience. Alongside this, our Place Team delivers services across 15 neighbourhood libraries and 6 Community Partnership Libraries. These services play a vital role at the heart of our communities, providing valued and essential support to residents.

We are looking for a Service Development Co-ordinator to join our Central Area team. In this role, you will support the Area Manager with the day-to-day operation of library services, helping to ensure high-quality, accessible and customer-focused provision.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with frontline library experience who is motivated to contribute to service improvement and development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the delivery and daily operation of library services
- Helping to maintain high standards of customer service
- Assisting with service planning and development activities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the library network
- Applying library systems, processes and policies effectively

We Are Looking For Someone Who Can Bring
- Experience working in a frontline library environment
- Understanding of how public library services operate, including their values and customer service standards
- Experience or knowledge of operational library management
- Knowledge of the Universal Library Offers
- Familiarity with library policies, procedures and day-to-day operating models
- Experience of time recording systems and processes
- Confidence in using library management systems (e.g. Spydus, Netloan)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good digital and ICT skills, with the ability to support service development
- Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation in a public service setting
