The Opportunity

As Service Director, responsible for leading service operations across the UK, will pioneer commercial success, team development, and customer-centric strategies. Focus on transport, refrigeration, automotive, or rental breakdown industry processes, and deliver exemplary results.

Where Is The Work

  • Field-Based: Travel and on-site execution in customer locations.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

Key Comportits:

  • Senior management/director-level experience—proven leadership ability.
  • Transportation, refrigeration, automotive, or fintechnicie service industry experience: Mandatory.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen driving revenue and profitability.
  • Deep understanding of workshop operations, fleet management, or rental services.
  • Experienced managing multi-site/service centre teams.
  • Ultimate problem-solving critical analysis, stakeholder engagement and adaptive change leadership.
  • Business/Engineering/Automotive Management graduate (or related degree).
  • GDLVAL industry certifications or qualifications—preferred advantage.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities & Priorities)

1. Revenue & Commercial Growth

Steer service offerings for maximum profitability:

  • Implement strategic pricing, service contracts, and after-sales solutions.
  • Monitor revenue trends and KPIs. Optimise financial performance metrics.
  • Identify lucrative opportunities:
    • Service contracts.
    • Maintenance programmes.
    • After-sales solutions.

2. Operational Leadership

Architectively powerful service operations:

  • Oversee scheduling, depot performance, and rapid turnarounds.
  • Embed compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement strategies reducing cost, improving workflows—culminating in heightened customer satisfaction.

3. Team Development and Success

Cook a culture of growth, excellence, and customer obsession:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop regional and operation team: Handpicking Regional Managers, Service Centre Managers, Engineers and Support Staff.
  • Define goals, conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster winged progression pipelines along with continual ** Improvement culture**.
