Service Engineer
Permanent, Full-Time Agricultural Engineer – Service Engineer
Location: Kelso | Division: Scot Agri | Salary: Competitive hourly rate + overtime

- Machinery from JCB, Massey Ferguson, Horsch, Spearhead, Berthoud, and more.
- Full servicing, parts, and diagnostics in line with manufacturer standards.
The Role: Agricultural Engineer (Service Technician)
We are seeking a **skilled Service Engineer to deliver expert repairs and maintenance, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
As a Service Engineer, your role will involve:
- On-site maintenance & repairs: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customer machinery in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Breakdown support: Respond to urgent fault calls across our service area.
- Workshop depot tasks: Conduct inspections, overhauls, and regulatory-scheduled servicing at our Kelso depot.
- Quality assurance: Ensure all jobs meet safety and manufacturer standards; report unsafe/damaged equipment to managers.
- Daily administration: Complete all paperwork, timesheets, job cards, and parts orders accurately.
- Team training: Mentor apprentice engineers and collaborate with service supervisors.

Essential Requirements
- Qualified: Hold relevant qualifications such as:
- City & Guilds
- NVQ/S VQ in Agricultural Plant, HGV, or Light Vehicle Mechanisms.
- Technical expertise:
- Experience with agricultural equipment, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, and transmissions.
- Ability to utilise diagnostic tools for fault-finding.
- Customer service focus: Excel at rapport-building and delivering high-level customer engagement.
- Operational flexibility: Prioritise tasks efficiently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- IT & logistical skills: Proficiency in office software and efficient systems management.
Desirable Traits
- Proactive approach: A Positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn and grow.
- Technical adaptability: Knowledge of advanced machinery or digital tools (e.g., equipment telematics) is a plus.
