Our core business is Sales, Installation & Maintenance of Compressors, Compressed Air Equipment and Systems. Focused primarily in the Northwest of England, with customers across the UK, our longstanding client base includes:

- Power generation sites (including nuclear and gas)
- Nationally recognised general manufacturing firms
As Main Distributors for CompAir low and high-pressure products in the UK, we provide full factory and training support. Our team maintains a diverse fleet of equipment, including various types of compressors and air treatment systems.
Job Summary
AFS Limited seeks a Compressed Air Service Engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias, to join its expanding service team operating from the Trafford Park office.
Responsibilities
- Effectively diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on customer equipment
- Conduct pipework installations and related modifications
- Perform planned and preventative maintenance on compressors, dryers, and ancillary compressed air system components
- Troubleshoot and repair emergency breakdown faults
- Install and commission compressors and compressed air systems
- Recommend enhancements to improve customer operations or company performance
- Maintain strong professional relationships with both existing and new customers
- Ensure proper maintenance of:
- Company vehicle
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Testing and diagnostic equipment per company guidelines

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in the compressed air industry: Desired
- Experience with low-pressure compressed air systems: Required
- Experience with high-pressure compressed air systems: Desirable (but not essential)
- IPAF license: Desirable (but not essential)
- F-Gas qualification: Desirable (but not essential)
- Good interpersonal & IT skills
- Strong work ethic, with a focus on delivering high-quality results
- Valid UK driving license
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
- Field-based role, primarily operating from the Trafford Park office
- Must be willing to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays as needed

Competencies
Key requirements and desirable traits include:
- Previous experience working with compressed air equipment
- Background in a field-based service role
- Proven electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Friendly, approachable personality with strong interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaboratively contributing to an established team
- Familiarity with EHS processes, documentation, risk assessments, method statements, and personal safety protocols
