Role Description
The Service Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in and around the Greater Bristol Area, United Kingdom. The Service Engineer will perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of smart technology, analytics, and IoT-based systems at customer sites. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing technical issues, providing field service support, and ensuring systems operate reliably and safely. The role involves collaborating with customers to understand reported problems, delivering clear updates on service activities, and documenting work performed. The Service Engineer will work closely with internal engineering and support teams to escalate complex issues and contribute to continuous improvement of service processes.

Qualifications

- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose, analyse, and resolve system issues efficiently.
- Solid Field Service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and customer-facing service activities.
- Effective Communication skills to interact clearly with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Maintenance & Repair capabilities, including routine servicing, corrective repairs, and basic hardware and software adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system diagrams.
- Comfort working with smart technologies, networked devices, or IoT platforms; experience with CCTV or analytics systems is an advantage.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the Greater Bristol Area and occasionally to other customer locations.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a focus on safety and quality standards.
