AFS Limited is a long-established compressed air industry leader based in Trafford Park, Manchester. Our core business is Sales, Installation & Maintenance of Compressors, Compressed Air equipment and Systems. Focused primarily in the Northwest of England and with customers throughout the UK, our longstanding customers vary from blue chip food manufacturing sites, power generation sites including nuclear and gas, and many other nationally recognised general manufacturing sites. We are Main Distributors for CompAir low and high-pressure products in the UK with full factory & training support. The fleet of equipment we maintain includes various types of compressors and air treatment equipment.
Job Summary
AFS Limited require a Compressed Air Service Engineer, with either a mechanical or electrical bias, to join an expanding service team operating out of its Trafford Park office.
Responsibilities
- Effectively diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on customer equipment
- Pipework installations
- Undertake planned and preventative maintenance on compressors, dryers and a range of ancillary equipment on compressed air systems
- Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repair
- Install and commission compressors and compressed air systems
- Recommend additional works that may assist customers or enhance the company’s performance
- Maintain good professional working relationships with all existing and new customers
- Maintain company vehicle, PPE, testing and other company equipment in accordance with guidelines

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in the compressed air industry desired
- Experience with low pressure compressed air systems required
- Experience with high pressure compressed air systems desirable but not essential
- IPAF license desirable but not essential
- F Gas qualification desirable but not essential
- Good interpersonal and IT skills
- Desire to provide a high quality of workmanship & ‘can do’ attitude
- Current UK driving license
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Field based role, operating out of Trafford Park office
Must be willing to travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays as required

Competencies
- Previous experience of working with compressed air equipment
- Previous experience in a field-based service role
- Sound electrical & mechanical fault-finding experience
- Friendly approach with good inter-personal skills
- Candidate needs to be able to work alone but also work well with the existing team
- Working knowledge of EHS processes, documentation, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Personal Safety
