About the Role
Title: Field Service Engineer Location: Stoke on Trent and surrounding areas Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week Annual Leave: 25 days + bank holidays (and your birthday off!) Key Responsibilities
Site-Based Maintenance & Servicing
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance, breakfix repairs, commissioning, upgrades, and refurbishment on equipment at wastewater and water industry sites.
Chemical Handling & Process Cleaning
- Handle and process treatment chemicals safely and compliantly, including daily chemical cleaning, dosing, and adherence to site protocols, health/safety, and environmental regulations.

Technical Support & Improvement
- Provide technical and commercial support to customers, ensuring efficient equipment operation.
- Gather operational feedback and site observations to drive continuing improvement and future product development.
Customer Engagement & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with site operators, maintenance teams, and stakeholders.
- Offer recommendations to enhance process performance, asset reliability, and operational efficiency.
Fault-Finding & Problem-Solving
- Diagnose mechanical & process faults, resolving breakdowns and challenges to minimise downtime and meet treatment requirements.
Compliance & Safety Leadership
- Adhere to water-industry standards, site safety procedures, and environmental regulations—prioritising safe working practices at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility in responding to customer/operational demands, including travel to sites, nights away, and occasional weekend work when needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential & Preferred Skills/Experience
- Mechanical engineering background (preferred).
- Experience in the water, wastewater, process, or industrial sectors (advantageous).
- Electrical knowledge (desirable, but not essential).
- Strong analytical skills in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and customer-facing support.
- Ability to work independently in a site-based environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
