Service Engineer

Job title: Service Engineer

Department: Dorset Nursing Supplies Engineering

Responsible to: Directors

Salary: £26,000 – £31,000, depending on qualifications and experience

Position: Full time, permanent. Monday - Thursday 0830 - 1700, Friday 0830 - 1630. Occasional out of hours as required with prior agreement.

Job Overview:

Dorset Nursing Supplies is a long established family business serving customers locally and further afield in the supply of equipment and supplies, and also the maintenance and repair of equipment. We have an excellent record for staff retention and satisfaction, each member being highly valued and supported.

We are currently looking for a competent engineer to join our well established engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a good team player, have excellent problem solving skills and be an ‘all-rounder’ when it comes to practical tasks.

You will be working as a part of our engineering team supporting customers with the maintenance and repair of their medical and nursing equipment. We have a wide customer base including residential and nursing homes, NHS surgeries and training providers. A maintained van will be provided for you so that you can carry out your duties.

As well as the routine maintenance of equipment, problem solving is a big part of this role, assisting customers when vital equipment needs repairing. This will involve initial call outs to identify the issue, the sourcing of replacement parts when necessary, and seeing the job through to completion. Keeping customers informed throughout is key to maintaining the good relationships that we have. Good record keeping is essential, and our customers appreciate and rely on this for their own record keeping.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
