About the Role
This highly successful vendor of specialist laser cutting equipment is expanding and now seeking a senior service engineer with expertise in:
- Repairing, commissioning, and installing advanced fiber laser machines
- Supporting a variety of industrial applications
- Diagnosing and resolving complex issues within high-precision CNC systems
The position requires a methodical engineer with:
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing CNC machines
- Fiber laser technology knowledge, along with broader familiarity with CO₂, plasma, and laser systems
The role demands excellent problem-solving and customer-facing skills, with frequent travel to client sites. A company car and expense coverage will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and maintain advanced fiber laser and CNC systems across industrial sectors
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting with precision, ensuring minimal downtime for customers
- Collaborating with customer teams to resolve technical challenges in real-world industry settings
- Conducting on-site commissioning of new systems or upgraded equipment
- Providing tailored technical support and guidance via remote or hands-on assistance
Experience Required
✅ 5+ years in laser/optics service engineering, ideally within CNC or industrial equipment ✅ Proven track record of fault diagnosis, technical repairs, and system diagnostics ✅ Comprehensive understanding of fiber lasers, CO₂ lasers, and related cutting technologies ✅ Hands-on experience with electrical/electronic servicing, including circuit analysis and repair ✅ Mechanical aptitude for system calibration, component replacement, and machine tune-ups ✅ Strong commercial acumen—dealing confidently with clients and technical stakeholders ✅ Willingness to travel across regional/UK sites, often requiring shift work
