Purpose of the Job
As a Service and Installations Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of specialized equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure that equipment operates efficiently and safely.
The role will require travel to customer sites across a set region (South, North and Scotland), offering the opportunity to work at a variety of locations and interact with a diverse range of clients.

Key Accountabilities
Installation:
- Install and set up new equipment and machinery at customer sites or within the organization's facilities.
- Ensure that installations adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Calibrate and configure equipment to meet operational requirements.
Maintenance and Service:
- Perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify and address potential issues.
- Replace or repair faulty components, parts, or systems as needed.

Troubleshooting:
- Investigate and diagnose equipment malfunctions or technical problems.
- Develop solutions and implement repairs to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of equipment installations, maintenance, and service activities.
- Generate service reports and documentation for internal and external use.
Customer Interaction:
- Interact with customers to understand their equipment needs and provide technical support.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain installation procedures, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and guidance to end-users or technicians on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Offer technical support and assistance to customers via phone, email, or on-site visits.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and certifications related to equipment operation and service.

Duties and Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, with a focus on electrical being preferred
- Holds, or has the ability to achieve, a valid ECS Gold Card (Installation Electrician or Maintenance Electrician) or the ECS HERS (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme) Card
- Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in equipment installation, maintenance, or repair is preferred.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
