At CrossReach

At CrossReach, our Service Managers create environments where older people feel safe, valued and able to live fulfilling lives. They build strong teams, drive continuous improvement and ensure every person receives compassionate, person-centred support.

We're looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to manage one of our residential services for older people. This is an opportunity to shape the future of an established service, support a dedicated team and make a lasting difference to the lives of the people who call it home.

If you're passionate about delivering exceptional care, developing people and leading positive change, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As Service Manager, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for the service, ensuring older people receive the highest standards of care while creating an environment where colleagues feel supported to thrive.

You'll oversee every aspect of service delivery, from quality and compliance to people management and financial performance. Working closely with colleagues across CrossReach and partner organisations, you'll help shape services that respond to the changing needs of older people and their communities.

What Your Role Will Involve

  • Leading, motivating and developing a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding, person-centred care.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive culture where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, governance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
  • Driving continuous improvement through quality assurance, innovation and service development.
  • Managing budgets, staffing and resources to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery.
  • Leading recruitment, supervision, performance management and professional development across the team.
  • Building strong relationships with families, health and social care professionals and partner organisations.
  • Using service data, quality information and performance measures to inform decision making and improve outcomes.
  • Supporting the strategic direction of CrossReach and contributing to the development of services within your locality.

About You

You'll be a compassionate and confident leader who understands that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. You'll know how to inspire teams, support colleagues to develop and create a culture where high standards and kindness go hand in hand.

You'll be comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with strategic thinking and will have the confidence to make decisions that improve outcomes for the people we support, their families and your team.

You'll Also Have

  • An SVQ Level 4 in Social Care.
  • A management qualification, or be working towards one in line with SSSC requirements.
  • Experience leading residential or social care services.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365.
  • Registration with the SSSC (or eligibility to register).
  • Membership of the PVG Scheme, or willingness to undertake the necessary checks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
