Service Manager
Service Manager – Surrey Women’s Service (Women Only) | Salvation Army Homes

At Salvation Army Homes, we have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager at our Surrey Women’s Service, providing high-quality assistance to supported housing for single women aged 18+, including a domestic abuse refuge.
This role focuses on advantaged thinking approaches, ensuring the service meets all organisational and commissioned contract requirements. You will lead a team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, high-quality housing services and support, placing residents at the heart of our mission.
About the Role
As Service Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the team at Surrey Women’s Service and fostering an environment where residents’ needs are prioritised.
- Creating and implementing strategies to unlock residents’ potential, building trust and supporting their personal development.
- Ensuring the service aligns with Salvation Army Homes’ values and behaviours, particularly in its asset-based leadership approach.
- Collaborating across community resources to maximise support for residents experiencing homelessness or vulnerability.
- Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Essential Criteria
- A natural ability to engage others with energy, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- A can-do attitude with strong resilience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.
- Exceptional communication skills, with proven examples of inspiring teams, driving engagement, and creating positive change.
- Reflective practice and a willingness to take calculated risks to benefit residents.
- Experience (preferred) in supported housing, homelessness services, or vulnerable adult care.
- Knowledge of local/regional community resources to support holistic service delivery.
- A strong alignment with Salvation Army Homes’ values, particularly empowerment and strengths-based practice.
Nice-to-Have
- Direct experience in domestic abuse support or refuge provision.
- Familiarity with asset-based community development (ABCD) methodologies.
- Leadership in care teams or personal development frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Mentor staff, foster a culture of trust, and develop team effectiveness.
- Service Delivery: Ensure the service meets regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.
- Resident Focus: Work person-centred to build trust, assess strengths, and create tailored support plans.
- Partnerships: Collaborate with third-sector organisations, statutory services, and residents for optimal outcomes.
- Data & Reporting: Track performance metrics and provide transparency and accountability to stakeholders.
- Training & Development: Upskill the team in best-practice support methods and confidence-building techniques.
