Service Manager

Location: Flintshire

Contract: 6 Month Contract (Potential to Go Permanent)

Rate: £26 - £28 per hour via Umbrella

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday

Start Date: Immediate Start Available

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Refuge Manager to lead a specialist refuge service supporting families affected by domestic abuse. We are seeking a strong people manager who can lead a team, maintain high service standards, and ensure the delivery of safe, person-centred support for vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, coach and support a team of staff, promoting organisational values and ensuring a high-performing, inclusive and supportive working culture.
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of refuge services, ensuring residents receive safe, effective and person-centred support whilst maintaining compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and service standards.
  • Develop and maintain a skilled workforce through supervision, performance management and personal development planning aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, partner agencies, funders and community networks, representing the organisation positively and enhancing its reputation.
  • Support budget management, procurement processes and supplier relationships, ensuring value for money and identifying opportunities to maximise funding and resources.

  • Previous management experience within a refuge, domestic abuse, housing support, supported accommodation or complex needs setting.
  • Experience managing and developing staff teams.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Ideally experienced within domestic abuse services or supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced Adult and Child DBS issued within the last 3 years
