Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and inspirational Field Service Manager to lead our service operations across the West Midlands region with in our construction industry division, including support for the landmark HS2 project. Based from our Cannock headquarters, this is a high-profile leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, safety performance and commercial success.

Job Description:
Lead Finning UK's Service Operations (20%)
- Lead Finning UK's field service operation from our Cannock headquarters, supporting customers across the West Midlands region and key infrastructure projects, including HS2.
- Manage resources, operational costs and workforce planning to deliver exceptional customer service, strong business performance and sustainable growth.
- Take ownership of capability and capacity planning to ensure the operation is equipped to meet current and future customer demand.
Drive a High-Performing Service Culture (15%)
- Create and lead a service culture centred on customer excellence, collaboration and accountability.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver outstanding operational performance while developing an engaged and motivated team focused on continuous improvement.
Deliver Outstanding Customer Experience (20%)
- Champion a customer-first approach across all areas of responsibility.
- Through your team of Service Controllers and field engineers, ensure the consistent delivery of a high-quality service experience that builds customer loyalty and long-term relationships.
- Continuously review performance and implement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Lead Safety, Quality and Operational Excellence (20%)
- Act as a visible leader for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Promote a positive safety culture through leadership, coaching and engagement, driving best practice across the operation.
- Support safety initiatives, regional leadership activities and toolbox talks while embedding a culture of operational excellence.

Deliver Commercial Performance (15%)
- Take accountability for the financial performance of the Cannock service operation.
- Drive profitability by effectively managing service work-in-progress (SWIP), labour utilisation, cost control, cash collection and dispute resolution, ensuring both customer and business objectives are achieved.
Develop and Inspire People (10%)
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Service Controllers and Field Engineers ensuring regular performance feedback, clear objectives and meaningful development plans.
- Build leadership capability within the team and create an environment where employees can realise their full potential and contribute to business success.

Knowledge
- Strong understanding of engineering service operations and associated cost and revenue drivers.
- Experience managing budgets, financial controls and operational performance metrics.
- Knowledge of heavy plant equipment or related industries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems.
- Knowledge of the Caterpillar product range would be advantageous.

- Contribute as a key member of the Finning UK & Ireland leadership team, supporting strategic objectives and business growth.
- Drive operational performance across labour utilisation, service quality, OTIF delivery and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Improve employee engagement and support the development of future talent within the business.
- Ensure financial and operational targets are consistently achieved.
Education And Experience
- Proven experience in a field service, workshop management or engineering leadership role.
- Strong financial management and budget control experience.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proven track record of developing, mentoring and leading successful teams.
- Experience within heavy equipment, construction, industrial or engineering sectors is desirable.
