Service Manager
Service Manager – Surgical Services (Supporting Operational Leadership)
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to support the operational leadership of Surgical Services. Working closely with senior managers and clinical teams, you will:
- Play a key role in delivering high-quality, efficient services
- Drive performance against targets
- Champion service improvements across designated specialties
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic developments while keeping a strong focus on patient care and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Performance
- Provide day-to-day operational management support across the service
- Monitor and improve performance against key access and quality standards
- Work collaboratively with clinical and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient pathways and outcomes

Resource & Capacity Management
- Support resource allocation, capacity planning and service delivery
- Analyse activity and performance data, producing reports to identify areas for continuous improvement
Service Improvement & Project Coordination
- Lead and coordinate service improvement initiatives and projects
- Respond proactively to operational challenges, managing patient flow and waiting lists
Workforce & Organisational Change
- Contribute to workforce planning and staff engagement
- Support the implementation of organisational change initiatives
