Service Manager - Endoscopy

Job Opportunity: Band 8a Service Manager University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust


About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 8a Service Manager to lead operational excellence across high-quality, patient-centred services at both Tremona Road and Adanac Park sites.

This position offers a dynamic leadership opportunity, focusing on:

  • Strategic and operational leadership
  • Service transformation
  • Patient-centred care enhancements
  • Compliance with national standards

Your role will drive financial performance, patient experience improvements, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, using data to support decision-making and innovation.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Provide leadership across designated services, aligning with quality, operational, and financial targets. Foster an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Service Delivery:

    • Oversee the transformation and safe delivery of services across clinical, nursing, and administrative teams.
    • Manages change projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimise resource use.

  • Spiritual Leadership:

    • Use data, evidence, and analytical tools to inform decisions and improve outcomes.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience (Essential)

  • First degree, professional qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Formal leadership and management training (e.g., Masters’ level or postgraduate study).
  • Experience in healthcare management, including complex service delivery.
  • Project management training/qualification or proven project delivery experience.
  • Track record of staff, resource, and team management in a large, multidisciplinary setting.
  • Proven ability to solve challenging problems by developing sustainable solutions.
